Business Solutions: Boost Web POS Sales with
Support
Dan
Schell's article in the January 2006 issue of Business
Solutions highlights POSWorld, an Elo reseller with many
restaurant clients ranging from quick service to fine dining.
POSWorld President and CEO, Joe Bushéy, points out that,
while his
company sells a lot of touch monitors to restaurants, some touch
monitors are not suitable for this environment because the supplier
offers a standard monitor with a touch overlay added to it. He
has, however, no such problems with Elo's products because they
are specifically designed for touch from the ground up. Bushéy
is particularly impressed with Elo's 1515L, an entry-level 15" LCD
touchmonitor that has helped POSWorld improve its competitive edge.

IGWB: Kiosks Handle New Tasks and Improved
Sales
In
the February 2006 issue of International Gaming & Wagering
Business (IGWB) magazine, Anne
Burke's article discusses the expanding role of
kiosks in the gaming and hospitality industry and suggests that
advancements
in kiosk hardware may lead to increased usage. For example, improved
technology
produces kiosk monitors with sharper picture quality, creating
a more all-encompassing experience for the customer. Mike
Sigona, Elo's marketing manager, describes how Elo's IntelliTouch
surface wave touch technology contributes to that experience by
minimizing reflections and preserving color quality, while Elo's
wide-angle panels allow the display to be seen from any
angle. In the rapidly expanding field of interactive digital
signage, Sigona notes that the screen has to be big enough to capture
the customer's attention, yet small enough so that customer interaction
can still be at arm's length, and suggests that Elo's 32" touchscreen
is the perfect fit for this situation.

Global Gaming Business: Touchscreen
Monitors for Gaming Applications
Touchscreens and touchmonitors for gaming applications were the
subject of Frank Legato's "Technology" feature in the
January
2006 issue of Global Gaming Business magazine. Steven Abramovich,
Elo's vice president of global sales and marketing, comments on
the upsurge of LCD monitors in the gaming industry: because their
design is much slimmer than the traditional CRT monitors, a casino
can significantly increase the number of slot machines in its existing
floor space. Abramovich also cites the durability of Elo's IntelliTouch
surface wave touch technology in a touch-intensive environment
such as the gaming and amusement industry.
