Medical Imaging: Step by Step—Monitoring the Market

In her article "Step by Step—Monitoring the Market" in the March 2006 issue of Medical Imaging, Renee Dilulio "takes a look at monitor trends likely to land on your desktop." One of those trends is the move from CRTs to LCDs. Another is the advent of touch and the screen brightness necessary to view diagnostic images. Frank Shen, Elo's medical market manager, comments that the standard brightness of Elo medical touchmonitors ranges from 300 cd/m2 to 350 cd/m2 and is adjustable and customizable.

Casino Journal: Touchscreens Touch Back

Lyn Collier's article "Touchscreens touch back" in the April issue of Casino Journal discusses the relevancy of haptics, a touch-based technology that permits on-screen buttons to produce tactile cues. Steve Abramovich, Elo's vice president of sales and marketing, believes the future of touchscreen technology is in utilizing its flexibility to make games more complex and challenging. He believes that the trend of slot machines becoming more and more like video games will continue. Game technology will become increasingly interactive, not only for the gamer, but for the casino operator as well.
