Mercury

LCD backlights composed of CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lights) may contain very small levels of mercury within the glass tubing. Mercury is an essential part of CCFLs to allow the bulb to be an efficient light source. No mercury is released when the bulbs are intact (not broken) or in use1. Please dispose of properly.

PFOS

EU Directive 2006/122/EC restricts the use of perfluorooctane sulfonates (PFOS), beginning 27 June 2008.

RoHS/WEEE

The Restriction on Hazardous Substances (RoHS) and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directives, issued by the European Union, are aimed at reducing the hazardous materials content in electronic products as well as increasing the recycling efforts for these products and take effect July 1, 2006.
