New IntelliTouch Serial and USB Controllers

Elo TouchSystems announces that the new 2500S serial controller and 2500U USB controller are available for purchase starting April 17, 2000. These new controllers are smaller in size and offer improved integration capability, especially for popular LCD displays.

2500S Serial Controller, Part Number 351077-000

The 2500S controller maintains the same improved features of the 2310B controller in a smaller (2.36 in x 3.3 in x 0.4 in) form factor. These features include:

• Low power consumption, 0.3 watts, at 60 mA and 5 volts operating voltage
• State-of-the-art IntelliTouch touch processing which includes 10 millisecond touch recognition and contamination rejection
• Transient suppression circuits for improved ESD protection in low quality monitors
• Jumper settings for backward compatibility to the E281-4002 controller

In addition, the new 2500S controller has the comprehensive Elo TouchSystems Smart-Set Protocol and NVRAM that makes writing custom drivers and data storage easier than ever before!

Two new accessory parts are also available for use with the 2500S controller. The 2310B-to-2500S adapter plate (part number 882670-000) is available for those users that want to use the 2500S controller but cannot redesign the mounting hole configuration in an existing 2310B design immediately. The 2500S locking plate (part number 061369-000) is available to those customers that want to more securely attach the cables to the controller card.

2500U USB Controller, Part Number 714259-000

The new 2500U USB controller brings all of the benefits of USB connections to the IntelliTouch product line! Now customers can simplify their cabling and connections using the state-of-the-art Universal Serial Bus protocol. The 2500U controller has the same small, compact form factor as the 2500S card but includes a USB connection. Built-in USB plug and play features make this new card simple to use. Elo's USB Tool for Windows 98 and Windows 2000, version 1.00, is updated to work with the 2500U and is available on the web page.

2310B Obsolescence Plan

The 2310B controller will be available for sale until January 2001 but customers are encouraged to transition to the 2500S quickly.
