and use it.
Mounting or Enclosing Your Touch System
Kiosks are an exceptionally popular and common means ot enclosing touchscreens
for a wide variety of applications, so Elo offers these useful guidelines:
Additional things to think about:
- Do you need to mount the touchmonitor on a swing
arm mount?
- Is the base of a desktop touchmonitor removable or can it be swiveled
for wall mounting?
- Do you need to stabilize a desktop or countertop touchmonitor, perhaps
using standardard VESA mounting hole patterns? (additional
guidance)
- Will your touchmonitor be inside an enclosure,
such as a kiosk, or even flush mounted into a wall?
- If so, will it slide in from the front and need an exterior bezel,
or will it be mounted from the rear and not need a finished bezel?
 Application Software
Excellent software is a requirement for success! The best application
software:
- is developed specifically for touch
- is based upon
a thorough understanding of your user and guides that user
- adheres to the principles of interface and application
design
To enhance your touch-enabled application, consider these tips:
- make the application intuitive
- avoid any indication of the underlying computer operating
system
- use a simple point-and-click interface
- use bright, textured backgrounds
- turn the cursor off
- give immediate feedback
- make your application fun and fast
- limit the amount of text
