Touch
Technologies and Touch Products for Industrial Applications
Wide Range of Touch Technologies
Elo touch technologies help customers provide solutions for
an array of industrial applications from large machines to handheld
devices. Each of our touch technologies is optimized for different
operating environments and available as components for OEMs or can
be integrated into a complete touchmonitor.
Resistive
AT4 four-wire resistive touchscreens is ideal for small factor applications
(≤10.4") such as handheld devices, and AccuTouch five-wire
resistive touchscreens for displays ranging from 6.4" through
21.3". Both resistive technologies can be activated with a gloved
hand or stylus. They continue to function despite liquid splashes on
the touchscreen and can be sealed (up to NEMA 4/IP65 requirements),
and sterilized. AccuTouch five-wire resistive is the most widely used
technology for industrial process and machine control applications
and can withstand aggressive cleaning, and other harsh conditions.
Surface Wave
IntelliTouch surface wave touchscreens provide a picture-perfect,
precision touch solution. IntelliTouch is the most widely used touchscreen
for control room and other applications where NEMA 4/IP65 sealing
is not a factor.
Infrared
CarrollTouch infrared touchscreens provide high optical
sensor technology for applications requiring superior imaging performance
or operation in glass-free environments, such as food processing. CarrollTouch,
which uses glass, acrylic or a customer screen overlay, withstands
severe environments and vibration, and is sealable against contaminants.
COACh III Controller Chip
The Elo COACh chip (3rd generation) is packaged within a small
footprint of 12.15 mm by 12.15 mm, supports both AccuTouch five-wire
and AT4 four-wire touchscreens, as well as the USB and RS232 serial
interface with autodetect. The compact size and reduced power consumption
of the COACh III chip makes it the perfect solution for
cost-effective four-wire resistive touchscreens and battery-powered
applications. The COACh III controller chip is fully compatible with
the Elo SmartSet protocol and all of our standard software drivers
for disk-based, embedded, or real-time applications, and features on-board
calibration, coordinate scaling, and programmable output rates to allow
for application-specific performance tuning.
Economical, Rugged, and Flexible Touchmonitors
Elo touchmonitors are ideal in industrial applications
where cost, rugged design and flexibility are key criteria. Packaged
in different form factors, they are designed to sit on the desktop
or as an integral part of an industrial computer, on machines large
and small. Mounting options include desktop, panel-mount, rear-mount,
VESA mount on extended arm, and 19" rack mount.
Our open-frame touchmonitors provide superior reliability and
flexibility at a competitive price. A custom-designed chassis and sealed
bezel surface -- up to NEMA 4/IP65 requirements -- ensure that these
touchmonitors integrate easily into your control/clean room applications.
The touchmonitor can be mounted from its front or base, eliminating
the need to specify and purchase brackets and supports. Elo also maintains
fixed outside dimensions of the open-frame touchmonitors
much longer than the average plastic-case monitor manufacturer, reducing
the chance that you will need to redesign around a monitor component
change.
Elo can also design and build complete customized touchmonitors, or
build directly to your design specifications. Take advantage of a
well-established supply chain and Asia-based controlled manufacturing
processes to deliver customized quality while lowering your costs.
