Identifying Your Touch Technology

If you are not sure what technology your touchscreen uses, here are some guidelines:

  • Some Elo monitors specify AccuTouch or IntelliTouch on the sticker on the back of the monitor. Generally, a 7 in the model number identifies AccuTouch, while an 8 identifies IntelliTouch.
  • If you see or feel a grid pattern of dots (on approximately 3/16 inch centers), then it is AccuTouch. The dots are not easy to detect! Turn the monitor off, then look at the screen at different angles using various lighting sources; it may help to turn the screen up toward fluorescent lights. You may be able to feel the dots if you run your fingernails gently over the screen.
  • If you see fine angled lines around the edges of the bezel opening, then it is IntelliTouch. These are usually not visible.
  • If there is a black bezel with a deep purple tint, or if you see a series of LEDs (light emitting diodes) around the edge of the bezel opening, then it is CarrollTouch.
