comdump Checklist
Command format:
comdump 1 (or 2)
comdump 3 (or 4) 9600 IRQ#
Data
must not scroll when screen is not touched
- If data scrolls when screen is not touched:
- Bezel is clamped on screen or
- screen is damaged or
- cable is shorted
Data must scroll when screen is touched
- If data does not scroll on touch:
- Try another COM
port if possible
- Try
disconnecting the monitor's power cord briefly, then reconnect and try
comdump
- To prove that the
COM port is OK:
- connect a serial mouse and move it. If data
scrolls, COM port is good
Hshk
indication should be DSR CTS
- If data is OK but handshake is not, try disabling
handshaking
- See the Info section for the driver you are using,
in the Drivers section
Confirm [55] [54] in data
- If no 55 54 in
data:
- an older Elo controller is being used or
- a current Elo controller is set to emulate an
older controller or
- a non-Elo controller is being used or
- the controller is malfunctioning
or
- the COM port's
settings are incorrect:
- 9600 baud, no parity, 1 stop bit
