Non-SmartSet Data

If you do not see the [55] [54] repeating pattern, you either have:

  • an older (pre-SmartSet) controller or
  • a SmartSet controller that is jumpered to emulate an older controller or
  • incorrect COM port settings (they must be 9600 baud, no parity, 1 stop bit).

If the data is not SmartSet data, only the DOS and Windows Version 2.0c touch drivers will support the older controller data type. The one exception is that the Windows NT 2.0 driver will support the 4002 controller type. This controller is indicated if the comdump data repeats every six bytes when the screen is touched at a constant location.
