How to Program an APR Controller Serial Number

  1. Connect the touchmonitor to your computer, but do not connect the USB cable until after the Elo APR driver is installed.
  2. Unzip apr_serial_no.zip to an easily accessed folder on your hard drive.
  3. Load the Elo APR driver. Do not connect the USB touch cable until the driver is finished installing. After the cable is attached, the driver will complete the initialization process. After the initialization process is complete, test the touchscreen. It should be working.
  4. Go to a DOS Command Prompt and then go to the folder where you unzipped the attached files.
  5. Type touch –micronas
  6. Close the DOS Command Prompt application and go back to Windows.
  7. Go to the Device Manager.
  8. Under Universal Serial Bus controllers you should see USB Composite Device.
  9. Right click on USB Composite Device and then select Update Driver.
  10. Select No, not this time when asked if Windows can connect to Windows Update to search for software.
  11. Click Next.
  12. Select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced).
  13. Click Next.
  14. Select Don't search. I will choose the driver to install.
  15. Click Have Disk...
  16. Click Browse and then select the uacbflt.inf file in the drivers folder which is located in the folder where you unzipped the attached files.
  17. Click Open and then OK.
  18. Select Micronas Composite USB Device.
  19. Click Next.
  20. Bypass the driver signature check by clicking Continue Anyway.
  21. Wait for the system to copy and install the drivers.
  22. Click Finish.
  23. You may be asked to restart the system.
  24. Go to the folder where you unzipped the attached files and double click the uacbwin.exe file.
  25. On the following screen, select File, and then Update Firmware.
  26. Select one of the hex files in the folder where you unzipped the attached files. The hex files are T4200002.hex through T4200005.hex. If you have more than one APR monitor whose serial number needs to be programmed, select a different hex file for each monitor.
  27. Click Open.
  28. The application will update the serial number. When finished click OK.
  29. Close the uacbwin.exe application.
  30. Cycle power to the Elo monitor by turning the monitor off. Unplug the AC power cord and replug the cord after approximately ten seconds. Turn the monitor back on by pressing the power button on the side of the monitor.
  31. Test the touch function. The touchscreen should be working.
  32. To verify the serial number has been changed go to the Control Panel and double click the Elo Touchscreen icon. Select the Properties 1 tab. The USB Sn should match the name of the hex file you selected earlier.
