USB InterfaceNOTE: Be sure to download the touch driver, as new controllers require the latest version. Elo USB interfaced touchmonitors should respond to touch shortly after the USB connection is made (and the detection wizard has run, in some cases) even if the driver is not installed (touch response may be grossly misaligned, but there should be some sort of touch response). If no response, try the monitor on another computer system if possible. Also, connect other USB devices if possible, to verify basic system USB operation. A common problem on many systems is that if a USB mouse has never been attached, one of the HID files (mouhid.sys) will be missing. Connecting a USB mouse should cause the file to be loaded (or you can copy the file from another computer -see below). Using Windows Explorer, look in the \windows\system32\drivers folder and make sure that the following files exist:
If any of the files are missing, copy them from another computer (be sure to put them in the \windows\system32\drivers folder). Reboot, then remove and reinstall the touch drivers. Additional troubleshooting steps and tips are here. |
