Customer Display: Installing the Driver (Step-by-Step)
Get the Driver Files
From TouchTools CD:
- Insert the TouchTools CD and wait several seconds for the menu to come up.
- Double-click the Browse CD item.
- Navigate to Touch Monitor Peripherals\, Rear Facing Customer Displays, Drivers, USB Drivers, Windows 2000~XP~Vista.
- Double-click DisplayWinDriver.zip.
- Extract the files (directions).
From the Logic Controls web site:
- Go to the Downloads page on the Logic Controls web site.
- Select Customer Displays from the drop-down, then click Go.
- Scroll down to USB drivers.
- Click on the LD9000 driver for your operating system.
- Click Save.
- Select the Desktop as the destination.
- Click Save.
- Click Close when complete.
- Navigate to the Desktop and double-click the DisplayWinDriver.zip file.
- Extract the files (directions).
Install the Driver
- Disconnect the USB cable from the monitor; this must be done before running setup.
- Open the Customer Display Drivers folder on the desktop and double-click setup.exe.
Note: this step does not install the diver - it only prepares the file structure.
- Select the driver type to be installed, click Install, then click OK.
- A new folder named LCI Line Display USB Driver will be created on C: with a subfolder named Win 2000_XP; that folder will contain the driver files.
- Reconnect the monitor's USB cable and wait for the Found New Hardware wizard to start.
If the wizard does not start:
- Click "No, not this time" to the Windows Update search question, then click Next.
- Select "Install Software Automatically", then click Next.
- Click "Continue Anyway" at the Windows Logo question.
- Click Finish when complete.
The device should be listed in the Port section of the Device Manager as LCI USB Line Display LD9000 COM port, followed by the COM port number created as a virtual port. To view the listing:
- Start, Control Panel, Hardware, Device Manager, double-click Ports.
