AccuTouch Five-Wire Resistive TouchscreensElo developed AccuTouch technology with the harshest environments in mind, so it is no wonder that it excels in reliability, durability, and expected product life. AccuTouch can withstand environmental conditions such as liquid spills, liquid splashes and washdown, these screens are the most contamination-resistant available. We deliver drift-free operation for a lifetime of 35 million finger touches. Our customers who purchase our AccuTouch components enjoy five-year limited warranty. BenefitsFive-wire resistive is the most accurate and reliable touchscreen technology. Elo, the inventor of resistive technology, takes five-wire resistive several steps further with its proprietary AccuTouch touchscreens.

DurabilityAn enhanced, scratch-resistant hardcoat gives AccuTouch touchscreens unparalleled protection against damage, even in the harshest industrial environments. TrueFlat AccuTouch is at the leading edge with its 4H coversheet hardness rating. Elo touchscreens have been operationally tested to over 35 million touches in one location with a stylus similar to a finger, making them ideal for heavy-usage environments.Contamination ProofAccuTouch touchscreens are the most contamination-resistant screens available, as they are sealed against contamination and moisture. AccuTouch does not have a permanent venting hole. This prevents fluid ingress through the air vent or along the edges due to capillary action if the outer seal to the display degrades over time.Optics of AccuTouchAccuTouch touchscreens provide high light transmission, because the coatings on the glass and coversheet are ITO (indium tin oxide). ITO coatings are extremely transparent and offer the electrical properties required for resistive touchscreens.Excellent Cable Construction and AttachmentEven the AccuTouch cabling system is unique. It is copper soldered to the fired-on electrode traces pattern, has integral polymer strain relief, uses a copper flex circuit as opposed to ink (extension of coversheet), is low resistance so the cable length does not upset the design of the touchscreen, and importantly, may be folded and creased.Complete Touch SolutionScreen, Controller or Chip, Software DriverElo develops all screens, controllers, chips, and software drivers in-house and are tested together for optimum performance. With Elo there is no finger pointing at different manufacturers if a problem arises as we take over system responsibility.Experience of the Leader in TouchElo invented and perfected resistive touchscreens. For nearly 40 years, Elo AccuTouch resistive touchscreen technology has led the industry with the largest application and experience base of any manufacture. The AccuTouch five-wire resistive touchscreens use a glass panel with a uniform resistive coating. A thick polyester coversheet is tightly suspended over the top of the glass, separated by small, transparent insulating dots. The coversheet has a hard, durable coating on the outer side and a conductive coating on the inner side. ![]() When the screen is touched, the conductive coating makes electrical contact with the coating on the glass. The voltages produced are the analog representation of the position touched. The controller digitizes these voltages and transmits them to the computer for processing. AccuTouch five-wire technology utilizes the bottom substrate for both X and Y-axis measurements. The flexible coversheet acts only as a voltage-measuring probe. This means the touchscreen will continue working properly even with non-uniformity in the coversheet's conductive coating. The result is an accurate, durable and reliable touchscreen that offers drift free operation. AccuTouch screens are sealed against contamination and moisture. This prevents wicking of fluid between the coversheet and glass. Elo offers Enhanced, Improved and TrueFlat AccuTouch configurations. Enhanced AccuTouch and Improved AccuTouch touch screens have a flat flexible cable that is soldered to the glass. There is a bump where the cable attaches that is typically 0.010" (0.25 mm) high. True Flat AccuTouch touch screens use a flexible printed circuit cable that is attached to the glass using anisotropic film to eliminate the cable bump and enable true flat application.

In order to keep pace with technology evolution, the different aspect AccuTouch are developed to fulfill various applications. With the long history standard AccuTouch, Elo launched the Enhanced AccuTouch with better environment sustainability in 2006, and the Improved AccuTouch as the replacement of standard AccuTouch in 2010. Followed by genuine Elo design, the AccuTouch family equips with the well-known patented Z-border electrode pattern for greater edge linearity and the higher-quality glass substrates for increased durability. Every AccuTouch touchscreen has been thoroughly tested and validated by an extensive qualification process and meets the Elo standard for high quality and reliability. The widescreen ratio AccuTouch and customization service such as dimensions, cable position, length and type, glass thickness and treatment, dummy screens and zero-bezel are available to these three AccuTouch categories. Elo is committed to continuously improving the quality of our products and this change in the AccuTouch five-wire touchscreen product family is the evidence of that commitment. Enhanced AccuTouchThe Enhanced AccuTouch replaced the caulk to the edge by the double sided coversheet adhesive (DSCA) to protected the electrode traces and that offers original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) an enhanced environmental operating specification up to 50°C and 90% RH. The Enhanced AccuTouch is suitable for integrations with soft glue, DSCA, foam tape and foils. Download specifications sheet for Enchance AccuTouch. Improved AccuTouchAs a business of Tyco Electronics, Elo leveraged advances in material science to improve standard AccuTouch five-wire touchscreens that utilize an adhesive caulking applied around the perimeter to reduces the effects of temperature and humidity changes. This advancement increases the upper limit of the operating temperature range to 60°C at 90%RH. The Improved AccuTouch is suitable for integrations using strong glue and into aluminum front bezels. Download specifications sheet for Improved AccuTouch. TrueFlat AccuTouchThe TrueFlat AccuTouch is designed for the thin front foil integrations and increased environment operating requirements of 50°C and 90% RH. For applications which need clean outlook and easy clean, the TrueFlat AccuTouch is the optimal choice. With the 4H hardcoat for stronger scratch resistance and reduced wear-out, the TrueFlat AccuTouch has extended lifetime. Download specifications sheet for TrueFlat AccuTouch. AccuTouch technology is the workhorse of resistive touchscreens, providing unsurpassed performance in POS, industrial, medical, and transportation applications. Touch the screen with a finger, gloved hand, fingernail, or object such as a credit card, and you'll receive a fast, accurate response every time.
