How Projected Capacitive Touch Technology Works

Capacitance is continually sensed by receivers on the PCAP screen. When a finger touches the surface of the display, there is a change in the level of capacitance. For every intersection of the X/Y (sense/drive) lines the capacity change is measured (mutual capacitance), interpreted and converted to XY coordinates that correspond to the actual touch position.
