On February 26th, 2026, Elo will release new OS updates across some of its Android devices. These updates include feature enhancements and bug fixes to improve device performance and usability. These updates will be available for download on the EloView cloud portal as a dropdown and will become the default OTA download on EloView and OEMConfig as of March 5th, 2026. New features and enhancements:
I-Series 4 Standard and Value - Android 10
- Resolved an issue where cash drawer status was incorrectly reported on Z20 Gen2 stands.
- Resolved a certificate trust issue that caused connectivity disruptions following customer CA certificate renewal.
Elo Pay 7” and M100 - Android 12
This release delivers feature parity with the I-Series 4.0 Android 12 release in August 2025, 6.000.022.0052+p. Features, improvements, and fixes include:
- Added support for performing major OS upgrades directly from device settings with OS360 subscription verification and OTA selection controls.
- Added support for G-board usage on secondary displays to improve flexibility for multi-display workflows.
- Resolved an issue where the payment idle animation screen was not displayed after installation of Elo Pay App.
- Added granting all USB permissions capability to Pre-stage for improved device provisioning.
- Resolved an issue preventing retrieval of the Ethernet MAC address on Android 12 devices.
- Improved back button navigation behavior in EloHome to prevent unintended exits and enhance kiosk navigation consistency.
- Enhanced delayed content deployment logic to ensure scheduled content is applied once devices reconnect after being offline.
- Resolved an issue where a hidden navigation bar could overlay and block interface elements when triggered by swipe gestures.
- Improved payment application installation handling to correctly report failures caused by network disruption and prevent stalled installation states.
- Resolved an issue where the on-screen keyboard rendered incorrectly on secondary displays during orientation changes.
- Resolved an issue where device or site name was not appended correctly to content URLs after a device data reset.
- Improved DisplayLink behavior to automatically detect and activate external displays without requiring manual confirmation after reboot.
- Added support to configure the auto-reboot timer while maintaining required security enforcement intervals.
- Added device-side support for Peripheral Connect Phase 3 to enable streamlined peripheral workflows and authenticated access.
- Resolved an issue where devices appeared offline in the cloud despite being locally connected by improving status synchronization logic.
- Enhanced SetPackageNameAndPermission API allows granting permissions to multiple applications without overwriting existing entries.
- Added API support to manage Wi-Fi scanning in EloViewHome SDK.
- Added API support to manage Bluetooth scanning in EloViewHome SDK.
- Added API support to retrieve the serial number of the inbuilt scanner for improved peripheral identification.
I-Series 5 Standard and M51 – Android 14
- Resolved an issue where I-Series 5.0 devices were unable to download content from EloView portal due to network validation checks being blocked by firewall restrictions.
- Added a Prestage configuration option to control which languages appear on the Elo Out-of-Box Experience language selection screen.
- Resolved an issue where in some cases shell app was crashing when devices were rebooted via third party MDM.
- Removed the timeout limitation on the network setup screen during EloView setup to improve deployment experience.
- Added support for configuring display resolution, density, and screen edge settings through Prestage.
- Added API support to preserve CAPS lock state across activities and input fields.
- Added API support to restrict Ethernet over USB and implement USB device whitelisting for enhanced peripheral security control.
- Added API support to enable or disable camera access programmatically.
- Added API support to access and monitor microphone input for application-level control.
- Added API to allow applications to reboot or power off supported devices programmatically.
- Added API to allow applications to control screen brightness programmatically.
As always, your devices will never prompt an update or auto-update. Once the update is available, devices can be updated from the EloView Portal or at the device level from the EloView Control Panel. Other MDM users can leverage Auto and Manual Update features of Elo OEMConfig to update the devices.
