Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

This FAQ page may provide you with answers to some of the questions you have on regulations and standards such as EU RoHS, EU REACH, China RoHS, WEEE, Halogen-Free and Conflict Minerals, which are relevant to Elo products.

Product Recycling - Information on where and how customers can use recycling arrangements Elo have in place.

Elo is committed to promoting a cleaner environment. To minimize the negative impact of e-waste on the environment, electronic products should be sent for proper recycling at the end of their life, not to landfills. The crossed-out wheelie bin label on Elo’s products and/or product packaging indicates that the product should not be disposed of with other household waste, but instead should be disposed and recycled properly as electronic waste.

Elo customers may use recycling arrangements that Elo has put in place in certain countries, territories, and/or geographical regions. Information on where and how customers can take advantage of these arrangements can be found at https://www.elotouch.com/e-waste-recycling-program.

Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS)

Since 2006, Elo has complied with EU RoHS substance restrictions. Products that comply with EU RoHS substance restriction do not contain Lead (Pb), Mercury (Hg), Chromium VI (Cr VI), Cadmium (Cd), Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE), and Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB) above the RoHS threshold limit, except when a valid EU RoHS exemption applies.

Certificate of Compliance to EU RoHS for different Elo part numbers or product families can be requested through Customer Service. Customer service can be reached by phone at 800-557-1458 or by email at CustomerService@elotouch.com.

EU REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemical Substances)

Elo is aware and is committed to fulfill the obligations we have under the EU REACH Regulation No. 1907/2006, as a manufacturer of articles.

In accordance to REACH Article 33, we will notify our customers in the case that any of the REACH Candidate List SvHC is present in our products above 0.1% (by weight). A list of REACH Candidate List SvHC that has been identified to be present in our products can be found here.

Conflict Minerals

On August 22, 2012, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) adopted final rules for implementing Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Act concerning Conflict Minerals (“Conflict Minerals Rules”). Under the Conflict Minerals Rules, companies that report to the SEC, including all U.S. publicly traded companies, will need to submit a report to the SEC that discloses the origins of Tin (Sn), Tantalum (Ta), Tungsten (W), and Gold (Au) that is included in their products.

Although Elo is not subjected to the requirements of the Conflict Minerals Rules, Elo strives to support our customers in compliance with their reporting obligations.

Elo’s Conflict Mineral Mission Statement can be found here.
Elo releases annual conflict mineral reports in RMI’s CMRT format. Please contact Elo Customer Service for the latest report.
