EloView® Major Feature Release

Device Version

  • 3.32.24 for I-Series 2.0, Elo Backpack, PayPoint 2.0

The EloView product team is excited to announce a major feature release. This update focuses on single device management, device groups administration, content deployment improvements, and backend improvements which allow users to benefit from EloView with higher efficiency. Here is a list of new features and fixes with their short explanations.

Scheduled Content Enhancements
One of the long-requested features was delayed content deployment on a group of devices. We are proud of announcing that now the users of EloView are not only able to delay a content deployment but also schedule a deployment with a seconds-precision for any time for future plans. When you want to run an application, show a website or play a video on your devices on a moment that has yet to come, just schedule it! You can program the interactions with your end users, trainings with your employees, marketing campaigns or any content that you’d like to deploy on your devices by determining the time of the first deployment and frequency of the schedule (example: every Wednesday between 11:22am to 12:34pm by starting January 15, 2019 until March 22, 2020) The feature also enables users to schedule multiple applications and determine the priority among them.

Sticky Filters
A new feature that improves device management experience. Sticky Filters are designed to find what you are looking for and process bulky operations on devices even though they are not grouped together. Sticky Filters are available for all groups and filters, you can now save your filter with a set of device properties. Since one device can belong to multiple filters, sticky filters provide the capability of managing devices from different perspectives with bulk operations. As EloView Team, we recommend you the Groups for devices that are uniquely identified in your organization. For everything else, Sticky Filters will make grey areas much more visible and manageable.

Locked Settings
The UI of the Device Settings page is improved. We brought locks for the settings of a device or a group and made the setting not editable until the it is unlocked.

Other Fixes
Bugs fixes have been addressed related to Content Synchronization, Ethernet/Wi-Fi Overriding, Big-Sized APK Uploads and Brightness Controls for Backpack Devices. Additionally, we have applied the latest Android vulnerability patches to increase the security and privacy.

Method of Distribution
This update will be available to apply via Advanced OTA on January 22, 2019 and will become the default to update from the device control panel on January 29, 2019. There is no downtime associated with this update. As always, your devices will never prompt for an update or auto-update. Once the update is available, devices can be updated from the EloView Portal or at the device-level from the EloView Control Panel.
