On September 21, 2022 the EloView team will release a major update that includes EloView performance enhancements and bug fixes to the cloud console and Android 7.1 devices. This update will require a down-time and a device OS update. See “Method of Distribution” for more information.

New features and enhancements:

  • New - Added the ability to enable/disable trigger buttons on Elo handheld devices
  • New - Added the ability to downgrade APK to older versions with “Allow Content Downgrade” feature in settings
  • New - Added the ability to enable/disable navigation bar through EloView Home SDK for Android 7 devices
  • New - Added the ability to enable/disable access to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in EloHome Quick setting menu without admin password
  • New - Added an ability to enable/disable device control panel password from EloView console to allow quicker access to applications
  • Enhanced - Changed the default WebView type from XWalk to Native for newly added web-apps in EloView
  • Enhanced - Added support for 802.11x credentials using network configuration template
  • Improved - To enhance performance and avoid potential user error, EloView will now limit bulk operations on multiple devices to 5,000 devices at a time

Other enhancements and fixes:

  • Resolved a rare issue where, some users experienced device appearing offline despite maintaining a network connection
  • Resolved an issue where devices play default content with daylight saving time changes
  • Resolved an issue where some activity logs showed multiple instances of reinstallation of the Team Viewer application
  • Resolved an issue where some “now playing” screenshots on the EloView console did not have good image quality
  • Resolved an issue where some “default user agent” version was not available in webapp settings
  • Resolved an issue where some users could not generate a comma separated values (CSV) file when clicking on “Reports > Full Report” on the Devices page
  • Resolved an issue where some Android 7 devices were flashing a white screen when updated to 3.56.20
  • Resolved an issue where some users were unable to download the SDK from “Dev Zone”
  • Resolved an auto-reboot issue experienced on select PayPoint 2.0 devices running 3.54.19

Method of Distribution
This update will be available to apply via Advanced OTA on September 21, 2022 for Android 7.1 devices and will become the default OTA on September 28, 2022. The update will occur on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 from 5 to 9 pm PT / Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 2 to 6 am CET. While we perform this update, there will be limited access to the EloView portal. Users may also experience decreased performance of EloView services during this time. Please note, devices and their content will not be impacted.
